Making your mark

For anyone trying to break into journalism or PR it is hard to stress too strongly the importance of work experience and building a portfolio. What you get from a placement partly depends on you, partly on who you are working with, but either way there's little to be gained from spending a couple of weeks at the photocopier - you need to get out there and do it, which is exactly what L2 Journalism student Lisa Kriistina Myrnes did on her stint with the Sunday Sun.
