89 (In my life) æ is for....
...? I am stuck.
Do (m)any Norwegian names start with Æ? Wikipedia didn't go far beyond Æthelfrith av Northumbria, but although I admore his taste in travel destinations, he isn't quite a hero.
But, as I have nearly managed to take my letter a month project to end of March, it's OK to bend the rules and say æ means Jan Kjærstad, auther of the brilliant Jonas Wergeland trilogy. (The Wergeland sculpture park in Oslo may well feature if I decide to do an Alphabet of Places In My Life; I am in a reflective mood at the moment).
It is also 'for' Solskjær, and Ole Gunnar is one of my top three favourite-ever footballers. So he counts.

88 (In my life) Å is for...
... a few towns I have cycled through, but otherwise, å is at the heart of Skåne, my favourite county (except for Northumberland), and a splendid music and dvd shop with a very tempting jazz section, just off Lilla Torg in Malmö.
I bought Ulf Lundell's brilliant Omaha at Folk å Rock, also Arne Domnerus's Jump for Joy, and several Wallander DVDs. What more could you want ... (except English prices).

The Stan Tracey Octet, at the Sage, Gateshead. They played the two pieces on Later Works, The Hong Kong Suite and The Amandla Suite, which I thought the better of the two (it was commissioned to mark the evolution of Nalgo into Unison), encoring with a splendid romp through of Straight, No Chaser.

Xcellence? Certainly, Xda which came riding to the rescue from PDA Jurassic Park, but deep down an Orbital isn't an iPhone and never will be, so...
I want a pig. And if I can't have a real one, a realistic life-size model will have to do, and I am always on the look out... (Rather fancied one of these flamingos but the response was... mixed).
