Do (m)any Norwegian names start with Æ? Wikipedia didn't go far beyond Æthelfrith av Northumbria, but although I admore his taste in travel destinations, he isn't quite a hero.
But, as I have nearly managed to take my letter a month project to end of March, it's OK to bend the rules and say æ means Jan Kjærstad, auther of the brilliant Jonas Wergeland trilogy. (The Wergeland sculpture park in Oslo may well feature if I decide to do an Alphabet of Places In My Life; I am in a reflective mood at the moment).
It is also 'for' Solskjær, and Ole Gunnar is one of my top three favourite-ever footballers. So he counts.

My first thought is Æsop. Not a Norwegian name, but Norwegian for Aesop or Esop, the Greek writer. Also boy names Æge (Norse), Ægir (Norse) and Æneas (Greek), but those are not very common names in Norway.
