Nielsen BuzzMetrics has press released a survey of top blogs based on the number of inbound links from other blogs between January 1 and November 30, and concludes that a small cluster of power bloggers - focused on politics, blogging and humour - were responsible for the top 100 blog posts for 2006
The top blog was mother.livejournal.com's petition against changes in the livejournal interface. The single post was linked to in 801 posts by 786 other blogs.
Two things strike me straight away - the most noticed post generated only 801 direct follow-ups. And it was bloggers blogging about blogging. As were three more of the top ten (and all three were Sifry's State of the Blogosphere reports!).
